Scoring

In brief

The round’s winner scores zero. Every other player scores the value of the cards left in their hand: 20 points for a joker, 11 for an ace, 10 for face cards. The aim is to score as little as possible: when someone reaches the target, the lowest total wins.

Note: aces and jokers cost more in your hand than when melded. An ace worth just one point at the low end of a run costs 11 if left in your hand.

Three special cases

Going out in one turn

Going out in one turn means opening and going out in the same turn, before any opponent has opened. Each opponent then incurs 200 points, regardless of their hand.

The player who never opened

A losing player who has not yet made their initial meld incurs the value of their hand plus 25 points, capped at 100 points and at half the target. With two players, the latter cap applies most often.

A blocked round

If the round ends because the stock runs out (see the end of the round), the player with the lowest hand value is declared the winner; the others count their cards as usual.

The end of the game

Points from the rounds are added together. The target increases with the number of players: 100 points per opponent. As soon as a player reaches it, the game ends and the lowest total wins. If two or more players are tied for the lowest total, another round is played.
